pearl market,singing, crazy eye.

Well well well, its been a good weekend. Sunday I had the opportunity to accompany in the worship band which was so fun!! yesterdayy we had the opportunity to take our friend's mom to the pearl market, which was just amazing. The jewlery store that we went into and bought pearls out was so cool, it looked just like any high end jewlery store except there was a section where you could design your own pearls and they made it right there for you! It was so awesome!! We spent about...5 hours in that one jewlery store it was sooo cool! Then after that we took her to the silk market..and at one shop this guy was trying to sell me two dresses for 80 USD and man...he had some kind of crazy eye going on...he would like look at me and his eye would twitch and go crazy....I told him I was not about to pay that much for the dresses and as I was walking away he yelled "lady you are crazy!!" haha I get told that a lot here...oh well. today I'm not feeling so great today so I didn't go with everyone to eat Bejing duck I just stayed in. So now I'm waiting for everyone to get back...but anyways...I think I'll watch a movie...or clean my room...I think I'm leaning towards watching a movie...haha yeah..I think so. I TURN 20 ON FRIDAY!! YAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAYA!!!! Later dudes.

2010! er ling yi ling! 二〇一〇！！

Haaaaa. Yeah its been like forever and 42 days since i've updated this...blah blah blah....k since the last time i have...managed to..almost get run over twice, avoided 4 near head on collisions (courtesy of the chinese taxi drivers), fallen off my bed twice, fallen up the stairs..4 times..and caught the flu. YAY. I finished school...3 days ago..? yeah now i'm off till March 1.... hmmm what to do....idk i'll figure it out. its been pretty cold here highs are like 5..haha i dont really know i've been inside for the past....4 days because i've been sick...BUT i do know its been cold. and it snowed like Alaska on Sunday. blah blah blah...oh yeah gotta catch up on birthdays... Happy Birthday, Shengri Kuaile, 生日快乐，Grandmama,Daddy, Mommy, Uncle Allen,Chloe,Jd,Eddie, ummm...i dont know who else? If i missed you...idk message me on skype and yell at me and i'll dedicate a post just to you. So yeah..now i'm trying to get over the flu...la la la...and i gotta get all my gift shopping done at the markets within the next 2 months. woo! kayyyy. that's all! bye bye!

First Real Culture Stress Moment

sooo i know...i'm not keeping up with this thing at all...BUT that's only because i wasn't able to access it till tonight. But things are going great right now, i got into my dorm on tuesday...and needless to say...its....tiny. and i have a roommate....from Germany. Which is pretty cool. But this week has kinda been just me getting use to the city and the way things work. Currently i'm feeling extremely sick. Like flu type stuff.....so i've been inside most of the day.

I do have one story to tell you.......I think today was my first REAL day of Culture Stress....haha.

So this morning I was suppose to get on a bus by myself and go to the subway to meet a friend there...well as i was running up to the bus stop i see my bus and it closes the doors and takes off right as I was running up to it. So i wanted to keep positive and i told myself another bus will come no problem i'll be like 5 minutes late to meeting them.....30 MINUTES pass...and NO bus. I was stressing big timmeeee. So i thought of this great idea...haha. i would just get in a taxi and ask them to take me to the subway....except...the minor detail of....i dont know how to say subway in Chinese....haha. so i'm like awesome i'm stranded..and i'm going to get left...because my friends are known for leaving you if you're not on time. haha. so all the sudden i just randomly asked this guy..."english?" and he said "little" and i said, "can you say subway?" and he was like, "uhh" and i showed him my subway card and i was like "subway, fast train, i need to go there, subway" and he was like oh ok yeah no problem subway, so i got a taxi and i said "tell him subway" and all the sudden he was like "no no i take bus" and i was like "i know you will take the bus but can you just say subway?" and he was like "no no i take bus" so after about a minute and a half of arguing and begging him to just say subway he says "i go with you" and he jumps in the taxi. So I'm just hoping whatever he said in chinese had something to do with the subway. AND IT DID! so the taxi pulls over and the guy pays him...and we had another argument i was like i will pay for the taxi and he was like no no i pay and i was like no i will pay....this poor taxi driver....so after arguing he pays for the taxi and then goes in the subway and gets on the same train as i did....so i panicked.....and i went and hid 3 cars down. haha. Nevertheless my friend waited for me and she could see the stress and panic on my face...all she could do was laugh. But i did see the same guy in the cafeteria tonight....so i just walked out. haha. fun day.

now i'm going to take some medicine and get to bed. I love you all so much and I miss you!!
